Sustainable Packaging
Packaging represents about 65% of each household's trash which amounts to a third of trash in landfills. During this current pandemic, less people are shopping in person for non-essentials, but the rate of online shopping has increased which results in more wasted packaging. Over the past few years the founding team at Elemental Mystique has made a conscious effort to incorporate sustainable living into our daily lifestyle and now our small business. At Elemental Mystique, we are mindfully packaging our products with eco-friendly materials to not contribute to this economic problem. Finding sustainable packaging options and vendors to work with when first starting your small business can be labor intensive, but I hope these resources can support others to incorporate sustainable packaging.
We wanted to highlight the amazing suppliers that Elemental Mystique is using to package our orders.
EcoEnclose
Padded Mailers: These padded mailers for shipping are made from recovered trash and 100% recyclable and naturally biodegradable with self-seal adhesive for closure.
Tissue Paper: Wrapping products with tissue paper is very popular since it protects them from scratches and can fill the voids within packaging. EcoEnclose tissue paper is recyclable, naturally biodegradable, and made from post-consumer and post-industrial content.
Bags & Bows Online
Jewelry Boxes: This jewelry box to individually package necklaces or other products is made from 100% recycled content (75% post-consumer and 25% post-industrial) and filled with non-tarnishing cotton.
Conquest Graphics
Custom Printing (Thank you Cards): Conquest Graphics’ green printing uses paper stocks that are all partially recycled paper to produce high-quality products for affordable prices. With their live-chat system, a representative can quickly assist your shopping experience.
Prim & Fir
Custom Stamp: A custom stamp is a great way to incorporate a consistent branded element to packaging. Prim & Fir provided a precise stamp of our logo and included a stamp pad.
Online Labels
Shipping Labels: If you’re freshly starting your business and don’t have the budget for a thermal label printer, using a regular inkjet printer is a great alternative. Online labels are great as they suggest label types based on your shipping provider and offer a white matte shipping label made of 100% post consumer waste.
We wanted to share our packaging initiative to give our customers peace of mind and provide resources for other small businesses to go green. If you know of additional sustainable vendors, feel free to comment them down below!
